INDUSTRIAL FIREFIGHTING

This is an advanced industrial firefighting course, where learners are taught the necessary skills to take charge of a fire team and to make decisions in firefighting methods. A special section on flame bending can be added to suit the specific needs of some learners or clients. The course will enable the learner to define fire ground management, demonstrate the importance of effective team work, exhibit the competent use of firefighting equipment and experience intense heat fires in realistic conditions.

DRIVER PUMP OPERATOR

Fire apparatus drivers/operators are responsible for safely transporting firefighters, apparatus, and equipment to and from the scene of an emergency or other call to service. Once on the scene, driver/operators must be capable of operating their assigned apparatus competently, swiftly, and safely. They must also ensure that the apparatus and the equipment it carries are ready at all times. This Basic Driver/Pump Operator Course teaches firefighters the skills and knowledge required to safely drive and operate fire apparatus.

WILDFIRE SUPRESSION

This is the entry-level course for all personnel who will be taking part in any form in basic wildfire suppression or related activities on a fireline. The course establishes the fundamentals and ensures a good grounding and understanding of wildfire and the factors which influence wildfire. There is a strong focus on safety, fireline communication as well as practical knowledge about hand tools and the use of water and hoses, which an entry-level firefighter will be expected to use. Safe and effective fire suppression tactics are explained including a section dedicated to the mop up stage of wildfires.
