Mission Statement
The Training Academy provides fire service personnel and other allied professionals with training, education and accredited assessment that is consistent with nationally recognized standards. These programs are conducted with emphasis on impartiality and confidentiality. Our goal is to improve the proficiency, professionalism and safety of firefighters and the protection of our citizens.
Training Academy Supporting Goals:
- To maintain valid procedures that measures specific levels of skills, abilities and knowledge consistent with nationally recognized standards approved and adopted by the Training Academy.
- To maintain a certification program that will ensure complete impartiality and confidentiality.
- To maintain a province wide and uniform procedure for cognitive testing, psychomotor (skills) evaluations and certification.
The Rural Metro Training Academy is a world-class accredited Fire Rescue Training Centre. We are a customer-focused organization committed to delivering high-quality training and education in a congenial environment.
